Granola has always been a childhood favorite. Whether you're still in love with it or rediscovering your passion, granola is one of the most comforting and enjoyable components of a meal. Whether you add it to your yogurt, smoothie bowl, or plain old cereal, this recipe is sure to please.
The main highlight of this discussion is sourdough discard, which offers probiotic benefits. However, let's also shine a light on hemp hearts, the focus of this expert. To address the common question: Yes, hemp hearts are seeds from the Cannabis sativa plant. If you’re unfamiliar with this tiny but significant plant, you’re not alone—many people are.
Hemp hearts are an excellent source of complete protein and are rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. A typical serving of 3 tablespoons contains 1 gram of fiber and a significant amount of potassium. Increasing potassium intake among the general public is one of the Healthy People 2030 National Nutrition Objectives.
Healthful insight: Potassium is an essential intracellular electrolyte and macromineral (with a requirement of over 100 mg per day) that plays a crucial role in various bodily functions. It is important for enzyme cofactor activity, muscle contractions, fluid balance, normal cell function, the production of bile salts, the regulation of cardiac health and blood pressure and more.
Healthful info: Potassium and sodium commonly have opposite effects in the body.
